The classic 409®, which has proven its worth millions of times over, has been optimised in terms of its design and stored in a magazine; the further development is being sold under the name 409®-2.
The design of the previous model has been optimised in a number of ways. The FOS® quality seal can be found on the clip’s hook. Even after decades, the imprinting of the logo provides proof that you are using a high-quality brand product.
To simplify hammering in of the clip, in the case of the round 409®-2, the round hook enables lateral turning away from the sidelock. In the case of the angular 409®-2, an angle produces this effect with an offset of approximately 1 cm from the sidelock.
Unlike the 409®, the 409®-2 is available in five different tip lengths as opposed to four: 42 mm, 52 mm, 62 mm, 72 mm and 82 mm. This results in a better ratio between the tip length and the penetration depth in the batten and therefore between the tip length and the roof tile. All of the roof tiles’ assignments to the new lengths were checked and specified. The product locator FOS ClipCHECK® determines the perfect clip by entering the area of application, the type of mounting, the roof tile and the batten. Stainless steel BS 304 S 15 or ZIAL® (zinc aluminium) coated surfaces guarantee long durability of the sidelock clip. The 409®-2 and the 409®b are offered in packaging units of 250 pieces each.
On the impact tip, an additional collar clearly indicates the minimum depth to which the clip must be hammered in. The new embossed grooved section on the impact tip increases the clip’s pull-out resistance from the wood.
The 409®b-2 is suitable for securing roof tiles with right sidelock.
In order to simplify the handling of the clip for roofers, FOS® offers the 409®-2 and the 409b®-2 collated on plastic strips. Each strip contains 25 clips and is suitable for the FOS ClipHOLSTER®. The magazine clip storage on plastic strips enables swift individual clip removal and reduces the risk of injury as well.
On the roof the use of the ClipHOLSTER accelerates the installation considerably. Because the ClipHOLSTER is fastened to the belt, the clips are within easy reach. The roofer has his hands free and can therefore work more efficiently. Empty magazine strips can be replaced quickly and conveniently. In practical tests, time savings of up to 25 % were recorded. Note: Using the red protective cap reduces the risk of injury.
